Professional Licensure
On November 1, 2019, the US Department of Education (ED) published among other things amendments to the regulations for institutions participating in federal student assistance programs effective July 1, 2020 (84 FR 58834). Several institutions have reached out to ACHE regarding one of the amendments, which requires institutions to disclose information about whether academic programs meet educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in any states where graduates may seek licensure or certification (34 CFR 668.43). The following information is intended to clarify responsibilities for all HEA Title IV institutions in the State of Alabama and does not imply that ACHE has any responsibility for compliance with or enforcement of the new federal regulations.
